Mnichovo Hradiště
Czechia
Founded in the 13th century by Cistercian monks on the left bank of the Jizera River, Mnichovo Hradiště is a pocket-sized Bohemian town whose historic centre is protected as an urban monument zone. Its main landmark is Mnichovo Hradiště Castle, a national cultural monument long associated with the Waldstein family, who have owned it since 1621. The town also serves as a gateway to Český ráj, a region of natural and heritage interest to the northeast of Prague.
