Simeria
Romania
A little Transylvanian town in Hunedoara County, Romania, Simeria sits at the confluence of the Mureș and Strei rivers, between the Apuseni Mountains to the north and the Retezat Mountains to the south. An important railway junction, it connects to Bucharest, the Banat region, and the city of Hunedoara. The wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the county seat of Deva lies just to the northwest.
