Commanding views across the Umbrian plain — said to extend over much of the valley in westerly directions — this medieval hill town on the lower flank of Mount Serano is one of the most photogenic in the region, and holds membership in the "Most Beautiful Villages of Italy" circuit. Its sharply sloping streets are dense with historic churches and a café and restaurant scene that outpaces the town's size, with the Clitunno river plain below and the wider region ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
