Vasto
Chieti · Italy
An Adriatic coastal town in Abruzzo with a walkable historic centre dense with churches, restaurants, and wine bars, Vasto sits where the mountains of inland Abruzzo come into view across the water. Its origins go back to a Greek and Illyrian settlement that became the Roman port of Histonium, and the town later passed through the hands of the Caldora, Guevara, and D'Avalos dynasties before being elevated to city status in 1710.
