Vibo Valentia
Vibo Valentia · Italy
Built on the site of the ancient Greek city of Hipponion and later the Roman colony of Valentia, Vibo Valentia is a Calabrian town on the Costa degli Dei with a compact centre holding many historic churches, cafés, and restaurants. The surrounding area produces wine, and the Tyrrhenian coast is close at hand. The town served as capital of Calabria Ulteriore in the late 16th and early 19th centuries, and nearby Tropea and Pizzo are among the region's most visited coastal destinations.
