Villany
Baranya · Hungary
This small Hungarian wine-country village in Baranya, Villány draws visitors with a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size, alongside several historic churches. The village has a layered ethnic history — settled around 1720 by Danube Swabian migrants from the Fulda district, its German-speaking population was largely expelled under the Potsdam Agreement in 1945–1948, with Hungarian families from the Czechoslovak–Hungarian population exchange moving into their homes.
