Berdavan
Armenia
This small town in Armenia's Tavush region, Berdavan sits on the bank of the Koghb River close to the Azerbaijani border. Nearby stands the medieval Ghalinjakar fortress, built in the 10th–11th centuries and restored in the 17th, making it the most tangible draw for visitors to the area. The town, renamed Berdavan in January 1978 from its former name Ghalacha, lies in mountain terrain within the wider region's UNESCO heritage orbit.
