Elda

Spain's footwear capital, Elda is a town in Alicante province where the shoe industry — particularly women's shoes — has long defined the local economy, and a Footwear Museum documents that history alongside an Archaeological Museum and a 12th-century castle tower. The River Vinalopó runs through the urban area, which merges seamlessly with neighbouring Petrer and is ringed by mountains.
