Polgar

This tiny town in eastern Hungary at the meeting point of three counties, Polgár offers medicinal and open-air bathing facilities alongside a boating lake and park. The neo-Classical Blessed Virgin church, designed by József Hild and built between 1852 and 1856, anchors the centre, while the listed 1769 Kálvária complex adds further heritage interest. The surrounding area is noted for wildlife including pheasant, wild duck, boar, and deer.
