Walkable Silesian town in southern Poland with a café-filled centre and mountain country close by, Wodzisław Śląski sits on the River Lesznica near the Czech border. Founded in the mid-13th century, it served as the seat of its own duchy before becoming a mining and industrial centre in the 20th century. Some listed heritage architecture survives in the area.
